Registered Nurse for 35 years, mostly in critical care. I'm returning to my vegartian diet (was a vegetarian for 25 + years and went back to eating some meats for the last 10 yrs) and taking it a couple of steps further to vegan and raw food preparation. I'm very holistic in my approach to life. I went off my cholesterol meds and I will f/u with my physician, checking my lipid profile at 3mo and 6mo points, as well as bone density scan. I am journalling my dietary/lifestyle changes along with recording my weight, BP & P and lab results. I am reading more about plant based nutrition (The China Study, Healing with Whole Foods, Living on Live Food, and Ani's Raw Food Kitchen) as a lifestyle change and not just a temporary way to lose weight My husband and I love to garden and enjoy anything in the outdoors (swimming, hiking, kayaking, biking, fishing, skiing).
