Why Americans aren’t prepared for the next mega-disaster!

After LOSING EVERYTHING in one of the largest wild fires in Southern California 2007, we were not prepared for such a disaster!

We had all the proper debris clearances but that did not stop the fire! We are now prepared for wildfires with a gas fire pump, proper fire gear to stand our ground and fight the next time! Now we are working on preparing for all the other disasters.

Our little town of Ramona had no running water, electricity, and cash was the only means of buying any food or supplies.

When disaster strikes, will you be ready? Do you know what to do? Do you have a plan? Fire, police, and emergency medical services may be delayed in responding for days. You need to have a plan, and be prepared to take care of yourself and your family.

Whether its wildfires, floods, earthquakes, winter storms, or losing a job – it’s not a matter of if a disaster will strike, but when! We are not immune to natural disasters and certainly not to terrorist attacks! The best way to make you and your family safer is to be prepared before disaster strikes.

I came across a company Shelf Reliance when I was searching for emergency products and absolutely love this company! Shelf Reliance specialized in food storage and emergency preparedness products. I am a consultant now and teaching classes on emergency preparedness.

We are still in the processing of rebuilding our home a beautiful log cabin and 2010 was the first Christmas celebrating being back in our home! Living in a RV for almost 4 years was tough! I am thankful and grateful that we are all back under one roof again!

People say were crazy for living in a fire zone but we love our little town of Ramona!

Why Store Food?

Does it seem like everyone is making a big deal about storing food? For many, the issue may seem hardly worth addressing. After all, we live in a country known for being the “land of plenty.” It is sometimes hard to imagine that one day we could find ourselves in a situation that would require us to rely upon the food we have stored in order to provide for our families.

Determining every possible reason to have food storage is an impossible task; however, one need only take a look around our volatile planet to sample some of the many disasters of our time. In the spirit of optimism, more likely reasons to store food may be the least obvious. We never know when unplanned interruptions of life may befall us such as the unexpected loss of income due to a layoff or injury.…
